For as long as I can remember, I’ve been trying to help people feel better.
My dad died when my brother and I were both very small, and I somehow acquired the role of ‘family fixer’. I trod carefully so no one got upset, I kept the peace and was always polite, always smiling.
All these years later, and my greatest desire is still to help people get past whatever is painful in their lives. But I now understand the importance of looking after myself too, so that I can be as supportive and as strong as my clients need me to be.

Before starting Mind Shift Coaching, I spent nearly ten years coaching people who wanted to lose or manage their weight. The amazing testimonials I got back from clients, whose lives had changed for the better, reaffirmed my mission to help people find happiness.
So, in 2008, I studied for a Life Coaching Diploma. This gave me the skills to help a wider range of people looking to discover new, positive ways to approach their personal or professional lives.
Hungry to learn more, I enrolled on the Ali Campbell training courses for Hypnotherapy, NLP and Life Coaching. Ali is a world-renowned Life Coach, whose techniques are tried, tested and proven to bring exceptional results. The work I did with my clients was all based on his ‘Inside Out’ approach.
Not content to leave my studies there (I had a bit of an obsession with training courses), I undertook an Advanced Hypnotherapy course with the Surrey College of Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy. I completed this in January 2020, alongside a number of additional qualifications, and have since developed a much deeper understanding of hypnotherapy – in particular, the how and why it works.

My coaching and therapeutic techniques are based on the ‘Inside Out’ approach, along with the strategic interventions taught and endorsed by the Surrey College of Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy. This means asking you to look inwardly. And to consider your thoughts, emotions and feelings as you process certain situations in your life.
But don’t worry – it’s not as intimidating as it sounds. Instead, you might want to think of it as visiting a friend. Just like a friend, I’m here to listen and provide gentle guidance, no matter what your concerns may be.
